To celebrate Veterans Day on November 11, 2014, Micro Metals Inc. gathered their vets and treated them to donuts! Thank you for your service!

Micro Metals Inc. Thanks Veterans!

If you take a moment to look around, you will realize they are everywhere. But many times, we don’t pause to look for them.

We at Micro Metals Inc. are proud to celebrate Veteran’s Day, because we not only value the contributions they gave for our country, but also for the contributions they make to the workforce.

Micro Metals workforce is littered with vets who served the United States selflessly in the Army, Air Force and Marine (but no one who was in the Coast Guard!). In fact, we have 22 employees who are veterans! These employees have been invaluable in their work experience and work ethic. Many of our vets have been with us for a long time, with the longest vet working 27 years at Micro Metals!

Reasons we have found that veterans make great employees are abounding. Here are our top 3:

1. Veterans know how to produce under timelines and restrictions.

Part of being in the military means they understand a deadline and do what it takes to get the job done.

2. Veterans know the importance of following procedures and processes.

Especially in the manufacturing business, there are processes to ensure our customers receive what they want. Vets are wonderful in understanding procedures and processes, and also help forming them to make the most out of our resources and time.

3. Veterans have high integrity.

We see it day in and day out that Veterans will do what they say, and work hard to achieve it.

Randy Weckman, the engineering manager, is a veteran and has a great perspective on what veterans can do for the workforce. “Because we have various customers requiring a wide range of products with short lead-times, vets can be very successful using these skills and abilities while helping us achieve our goals.”

We are proud to have veterans working for us at Micro Metals Inc. and encourage all businesses to look into how hiring a veteran can be beneficial to your company!

If you are a veteran, thank you for your service. And if you are looking for a job, feel free to go to www.micrometalsinc.com/careers to see if there is an opportunity for you at Micro Metals!
